Kemerburgaz Villa

Turnkey construction of a classically styled villa in Kemerburgaz — two floors and a roof level — together with the mature garden layout and the long rectangular pool that mirrors the elevation.

The precision a classical elevation demands

Arched windows, surrounds and a moulded eaves line leave far less tolerance than a modern façade: the eye catches broken symmetry at once. Before façade work began, the window axes and the string course level were set out across the whole elevation, and the stone-faced plinth was divided to those axes.

Where the pool sits, and its reflection

The pool runs parallel to the main elevation with its long side facing the house. The reason for that placement is not swimming but the view: in still water the façade reflects along its full length. To keep the reflection clean, the coping was kept very close to water level and the timber deck around it finished flush.

Boundary and maintenance

A tall clipped hedge along the plot boundary screens the neighbouring buildings and breaks the wind reaching the pool. Drip irrigation was run beneath the hedge line; watering a hedge of this size by hand is not sustainable. The transition between lawn and deck was brought to a single level, so the mower leaves no edge line.

Outcome

In a classical villa the work is proportion and alignment more than material; in the garden it is setting up something that can actually be maintained. Both were decided at the start. See our residential and villa construction page or request a quotation for your own site.
